Lifestyle sessions are relaxed and tailored around you, taking place either in your own home or at a favourite outdoor location in Orpington, Kent or across South East London. Before your session, we’ll have a phone consultation to talk about what you’re looking for, who will be involved and the kind of setting and feel you’d like for your photographs.
On the day, I’ll offer gentle direction when needed while keeping things natural and unforced. For families and children, there’s plenty of time for interaction, movement and those spontaneous moments that often make the best photographs. We can also incorporate a variety of backgrounds and settings to give you a beautifully varied collection of images.

Unlike a studio session, lifestyle photography takes place in a real, natural setting — your own home, a favourite local spot, or somewhere beautiful outdoors — capturing your family as you actually live, rather than posed against a backdrop.

This really depends on the location — what works beautifully in a lavender field might not suit a modern home, or a more traditional one. Before your session, we'll usually have a consultation, and you're welcome to send over photos of your home or the location beforehand, so we can plan styling that genuinely suits the setting.

UK weather is unpredictable, to say the least, so I tend to avoid winter sessions outdoors — too cold and wet to enjoy properly. Late spring through summer is lovely, especially a warm summer evening among the lavender fields, and autumn is beautiful too, with plenty of crunchy leaves to enjoy. That said, autumn is also when I'm busiest with Christmas sessions, so if you're hoping for an autumn outdoor shoot, it's worth booking in good time.

They're generally a little more than a studio session. Lifestyle shoots take more preparation on my end — depending on the setting, there can be travel time involved, and I often need to pack up equipment and props from the studio and bring them with me. That extra preparation is reflected in the price, but it's all part of creating a genuinely personal, on-location experience for you.
