Hi, I'm Sue

Hi, I’m Sue — a maternity, newborn, family and headshot photographer based in Orpington, Kent.

I’ve been behind the camera for over 30 years, and for more than 15 of those, I’ve welcomed families into my cosy home studio to capture some of the most meaningful moments in their lives. In that time, I’ve photographed thousands of babies, children and families from Orpington, Bromley, Sevenoaks and across Kent and South East London — and I still feel incredibly lucky to do what I do every day.

There’s something quietly magical about this job. One day I’m photographing a brand new baby, curled up and perfect in those first fleeting days. A few months later, that same baby is back, full of smiles and personality. Then suddenly they’re a toddler… and before long, a confident child standing proudly in a family portrait. Being trusted to capture those chapters is something I never take for granted.

My style is timeless, natural and gently guided. I’ll never expect you to know how to pose or what to do — that’s my job. Whether it’s a sleepy newborn, a lively toddler or a large extended family group, I create a calm, relaxed environment where everyone can simply be themselves while I capture the moments that matter most.

Over the years, I’ve also developed what many of my clients call my “superpower” — designing beautiful wall art and frame collections. I don’t just take photographs; I help you turn them into something you can see and enjoy every day in your home. From carefully curated gallery walls to statement pieces, I guide you through the process so your images don’t just sit on a screen, but become part of your family’s story.

Families often travel from across Kent and South East London to my Orpington studio, and many return year after year. For me, that says everything.
