It is a blessing for me to be able to meet babies as newborns and then see them as they grow up and watch the family grow. This yummy mummy and and her gorgeous family came to me last year and we got some cracking shots.
The colour palette and shots that the family chose were neutral, tasetful and simple which gives a timeless feel to the images captured. I look forward to seeing these gorgeous girls again in the future.
Happy New Year!
Oh my word, 2020 was the craziest year ever and so much has changed in such a short time. Last year this time Covid was hardly a blip on the horizon and today we are back in lockdown with my little studio once again closed, something inconceivable a year ago. I do hope that there is an end to this madness as I truly miss 'my' babies and the wonderful clients my business seems to attract.
In May 2012 this family travelled from London with their first daughter Nomsa for her newborn portraits, they returned in 2014 with their second daughter Thandi; then again in 2018 with Loreto; and then came in December with another beautiful daughter Ayanda.
I cannot tell you how excited I get on the morning of shoots of my returning clients as I LOVE seeing how big the little ones have got and look forward to catching up with their parents. I am exceedingly lucky that my clients return again and again and it really is an honour to have the opportunity to capture these special times for their families.
I will try to blog more often!
Amira, Zahara's big sister came to me for her newborn and 1st year birthday cake smash shoot and I was delighted to see what a lovely, kind, sweet and gorgeous big sister she had become.
Here are a few images from their shoot.
A Happy if belated New Year to you all! 2018 was one of the busiest years I have had, with so many gorgeous babies and lovely families visiting me at my studio in Orpington.
Thank you all for choosing me: it’s a great honour and gift that you invited me to to take part in your family’s memory-keeping. I take this responsibility very seriously.
The downside of a very busy studio is that blogging and social media are neglected as shooting and delivering a high standard of work in a timely manner is always more important.
I thought however I would blog this gorgeous baby Harry and his little friend Alfie, who are both super cute. This was clearly shot before Christmas and these, which were some of the more festive images, formed part of a very sweet little Christmas card.
I will try, this year, to give more time to blogging as it would be lovely to share more of the sweet little souls who come through the studio.
Let’s hope 2019 is a great one for all of us!
In May 2012 this family travelled from London with their first daughter Nomsa for her newborn portraits, they returned in 2014 with their second daughter Thandi and then again last year with the latest addition to the family, Loreto. We have had amazing shoots each time and the girls have slept beautifully and we again got gorgeous photographs.
Its a really big honour to be chosen to record these special memories with a family and to get to watch their family grow.
This gorgeous family came to several years ago when their daughter Pavan was a month old and we had such an enjoyable shoot.
I was delighted that they chose to return with the latest addition to the family, the gorgeous little Daaya. Not only is the family fabulously good looking but they are super talented too, with their mum doing professional make up and their dad a wedding photographer.
Our shoot was so much fun and we had so many gorgeous photographs to choose from, I do hope I see them again in the future.
I last saw this lovely family in 2013 when Ayla was a little newborn baby. At that shoot we did a shot of Ayla on her brother Kayhan's back and produced a large framed B&W print, we replicated that shot with their new brother Ayham so they can sit side by side on the walls of their home. I really enjoy it when families create images that show the growth of their families and of the children. I am so honoured they chose me again to capture these important memories.
In 2014 Luke's mum and dad brought his big brother Aaron for his newborn shoot, we got some wonderful photographs in that shoot and I was really pleased that Luke's shoot went as well. Aaron was an awesome brother and so sweet and gentle with little Luke.
I have had a lot of little girls on the blog recently so I thought I would do some little boys. This is the handsome little Flynn, I am going to be blogging his newborn shoot and then some images from his sitting shoot. I am so flattered that his family chose to drive from Islington in London to do both of his shoots with me. Not only was he a handsome little man but he was also as good as gold during the shoot.
His granny sent me this message after the shoot so that I could pop it on my review page. It really means so much to me when I get these emails, it was a wonderful shoot and I loved meeting you all:
With his parents, I watched my little grandson being photographed by Sue.
She had a magical touch with little Flynn that affected us all.
It brought out feelings of love and togetherness as a family which I will always remember.
Sue has a unique gift which I have never experienced before.
Thank you Sue.
I could not resist blogging this gorgeous family who came for a studio newborn shoot a little while back. Generally during a newborn shoot we concentrate on the baby, if there are siblings we will focus on the children together. I always love taking family pictures and with babies with their mum's and dads. I think it is so lovely for children as they get older to be able to look back at their parents when they were younger. Children never make judgements on their parents, they never see the negative stuff we see when we look in the mirror. I love the emotion in these classic family portraits.
They don't get much cuter than this little set of twins that came from London for their newborn studio shoot last year. We did each twin in a different set of scales so that they could have them hang next to each other on the wall, I think its an awesome idea and very effective.
This is the gorgeous Francesca, she came to my studio in August 2015 for her newborn shoot. I have been lucky enough to see her several times since then (I will be blogging those shoots over the next few days) for a sitting shoot and also for a cake smash at 1 year old.
I think these children are especially lucky to have these amazing parents who put the time and energy into creating these lovely portraits images that will bring a lifetime of memories for their children and families.
I would like to start this blog post by saying Happy New Year, I sincerely hope that this year will be a happy, healthy, prosperous and exciting one for us all. I have to say that I am a little embarrassed that I last blogged in September but there is no point in beating myself up about it. The truth is that I prioritise shooting, holding ordering appointments, designing albums and fulfilling my orders over blogging and I run a very busy studio. I literally have hundreds of shoots I would love to blog and find it sad that they never see the light of day, I will try and do better in 2017.
I thought that I would start this year by blogging Bradley and his little brother Sebastian.. I first met them several years ago when his folks did a maternity and newborn shoot with Bradley and his gorgeous family. I was delighted when they contacted me to say they wanted to do the same with their new baby. They have subsequently done a family shoot with both sets of parents but that is for another day and its a real honour that they chose me to document these precious memories.
I am a little embarrassed that I have not blogged since April. The great news is that I have been super busy with loads and loads of gorgeous squidgy babies and their lovely families and have also had a lot of cake smashes and older babies...but those images are for a different day. I feel very blessed to run such a busy studio and to wake up day after day and love going to work, I know this is not the case for everyone.
This sweet little lass came with her parents from Essex to my Kent studio for her newborn shoot. We had such a fun shoot and they were spoiled for choice. I am really hoping to see little Anaiya and her awesome parents in the future again
I shot Connor's newborn shoot on the afternoon that Kate and William got married on 29 April 2011, it is one of those shoots that I will never forget. At the time, Connors mum had already had a maternity shoot shoot with me. Not long after our shoot they moved to Hertfordshire so I was so please when she got hold of me to say that she wanted to return to my studio to do both a maternity and a newborn shoot with her second baby.
We had fun on both shoots and it was lovely to see them again. On the day of the newborn shoot we had a particularly good time and we got some lovely shots.
